Prepare to be kind

Rebecca Priestley has led NZ SeaRise research into how the New Zealand publics understand sea-level rise. In this creative essay for Granta she explores her thoughts on climate change, covid-19, and how to approach the rising tide (spoiler alert, being kind helps).

‘Looking forward to 2100, it’s a choice between another thirty centimetres of sea-level rise if we do everything we can to cut our carbon emissions, and up to two metres of sea-level rise if we don’t.’
